About the Massey GPA System
An illustrative A at 30 credits, B+ at 15 and DC at 15 gives (8 × 30 + 6 × 15) ÷ 60 = 5.50. Replacing DC with an excluded ungraded pass means dropping that row, giving 330 ÷ 45 = 7.33. Course selection matters as much as the 0–9 scale.
Massey Grading Note
Massey’s Qualifications Framework maps A+ to 9 through C− to 1, with D, E and DC at zero. WD, ungraded P/F and AG are neutral and must be left out. Historical R results remain relevant to some records, but no value for R is offered by this calculator.
Massey Accuracy Scope
The normal individualised GPA includes attempted courses not already attributed to a conferred qualification; a specific purpose can define another set. This is a two-decimal planning average, not a reproduction of the Framework’s Swedish-rounding presentation. Use recorded letter grades, not this tool to decide raw-mark rounding.
GPA Tips for Massey Students
- For a master’s qualification GPA, Massey excludes pass/fail and aegrotat passes and credits from earlier qualifications or other institutions.
- Programme progression or an endorsement is not inferred from the GPA estimate.
